My Name is Ren Butler.

How it started: My connection to print started long before my career did. As a kid, I was fascinated with design and computers. I’d spend hours using a print studio program to design and print stationery for family members and friends. Letterheads, little note cards, and anything else I could convince someone to let me make for them. Even then, there was something exciting about seeing an idea turn into something you could actually hold in your hands.

That early curiosity eventually led me to study Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. But my real education began in the print world after college.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked hands-on in print production, partnering mostly with small businesses across a wide range of industries. That experience taught me something important, great design means nothing if the final printed product doesn’t match the vision.

Print is where ideas become tangible, and that’s the part of the process I’ve always cared about most.

After years in the industry, I saw a pattern. Many print shops had grown so large that quality and communication started to slip. Projects felt rushed. Clients felt like numbers. The personal connection was gone.

That’s why I started Butler Print & Design.

My goal is simple: bring high-quality print and thoughtful design to small and mid-size businesses in the Pittsburgh area without losing the personal interaction that makes the process smooth and collaborative. Whether I’m working with contractors, restaurant owners, or fellow entrepreneurs, I believe the best results come from clear communication, attention to detail, and truly caring about the outcome.
